[MBZ] early 107 fuel sending unit

This 450SL I am working on has the early style fuel sender that has a 
gasket and has studs with nuts that hold the unit into the tank. All I 
can seem to find is the later style that screws in.  Is there some sort 
of way to convert to the newer style, anybody dealt with this?
