Those have the battery back under the hood, and not in the trunk or under the seat?

My 09S550 has a AGM battery under the hood but there is a bulkhead between it

What is the opinion on AGM batteries in under hood applications in older
vehicles? I need to buy a battery for this 73 450SL and can get the economy
walmart or parts store battery for anywhere from $89-$109, or can get the AGM
for $179. I seem to recall hearing that AGM batteries are not recommended for
use when battery is in the engine compartment but not sure if that is just a
old wives tale or there is actually truth to or. OR, if there would even be
advantage in this case. This would be an infrequently driven car.

BTW got the old D Jet 4.5 fired up and running today after being stored in a
garage not started in the great white north for the last 8 or 9 years.
