I don't know what the scam is but perhaps they will want to conduct the 
transaction outside of the FBM, thereby avoiding selling fess (if any?) or 
skirting any buyer fraud protection that FBM may offer.

Or maybe they want just your phone number to start harassing you with text 
message and robocall scams. Phone number by itself should not be *too* 
valuable, but a known working/active phone number is worth more than a random 
one.
