We saw quite a number of these Smart cars around when they first came
out here with the diesel engine but they have pretty much disappeared.
I don't believe the engines stood up. One of the auto parts stores here
used them as delivery vehicles, but not for long.
I do recall, that we were driving out to the cottage and following a car
that was hard to identify. It was very narrow and tall. We followed it
for quite some time at about 75 mph until it slowed down and we passed
it. It was a Smart car and it may have been the first one that I had
seen. I sort of wondered about the speed given the lady driving it
essentially had her feet resting on the inside of the front bumper.
