When we had kids, we declared that "Christmas is where the kids are", which was our house. of course. We would sometimes go to Dad's for Thanksgiving, but Christmas was never anywhere else. Now the Grandparents are gone and the kids grown with extended families of their own, but our son )the youngest) is still in the area and he and our DIL are here often. We had the DIL's family here for Thanksgiving dinner - the first gathering of more than four of us since before Covid (nine of us). It was nice to share a great meal with everyone.
