CrowdStrike’s client that resides on the endpoints is operating at the kernel level, meaning it’s got the “keys to the castle” so it can bork bad stuff however necessary when it shows up. That weakness is pretty clear when you have a situation like this. Methinks someone screwed up and released the wrong update. No way something like this could get through the vetting process otherwise.
