So how do you get it to restrict the search to Ending within 3 days, Max
Price: $1,222.00 ? (How did you go about setting up the search?)
Those search parameters are in the left side panel (frame?) of any initial
eBay search. The panel is yellow. At the bottom of the panel, below the
"show items" button is a link that says Customize options displayed above.
Click that link (the word customize) and it will take you to a page where
you can add and subtract certain search parameters, I.E. items within 200
miles, items ending in two days, items priced from 0- 1222 dollars. Another
search trick is to check the box under the search labeled "Search title AND
description"
I want to say that eBay uses a "Boolean" type search engine. I could be
mistaken on the correct name. A few features of how it works are these. In
any given search if you use quotation marks it will search for that
particular combination of characters in that combination only. I.E. if
searching for a 300 D you would search "300 d" . Use of parenthesis. Using
parenthesis is using the OR function of the search engine. Say, for instance
you are searching for a dodge with a Cummins or hemi engine. your search
would be something like dodge (Cummins, hemi) . Use of the wildcard. The
wildcard character * is used to symbolize ANY combination of characters
following a combination of two characters. If you are searching for a
Chevrolet, you know that some people call them Chevy. To include both
variations of this and any other string of characters beginning with chev,
you would use chev* . You would be surprised at how many people misspell
Mercedes. Finding one of these auctions with misspellings GREATLY increases
the chances of finding a bargain. One thing about the folks on this list, we
love a bargain. I hope this helps someones chance of finding a bargain.
