Wasn't there a "kit" offered by MB to move the cats out of the engine compartment?

Visually the exhaust was good, and I'd long ago convinced myself the problem was not in the exhaust pipe path itself. > I have that manifold and CAT sitting in the back yard if you want > another one -- the brace is solid on this one. the equivalent brace > (more of a gusset) on the other side is broken from the manifold, but > you're welcome to it as well. My idea, if I kept the car long term, was to eventually replace the catifold with a more normal one, assuming I could find one that fit. (I always thought the mating point in space for at least some non-cat manifolds was the same, but I have no proof of that.) The improvement to serviceability under the hood would be unbelievable. I bet the underhood heat soak would be lessened a lot too. I eyed a set of 450 SEL manifolds I saw one day at the U-Pull, but by then we'd already determined to sell the car so I didn't try to get them. -- Jim _______________________________________ http://www.okiebenz.com For new parts see official list sponsor: http://www.buymbparts.com/ For used parts email [EMAIL PROTECTED] To Unsubscribe or change delivery options go to: http://okiebenz.com/mailman/listinfo/mercedes_okiebenz.com
