No, I seem to remember seeing, with my own eyes, quite a few 107 500SLs onthe road in Newport Beach in 1982-84.
I also don't think the 500 SL's were an official MBUSA item, but that didn't stop plenty of them from getting here anyway. In the 80's, the gray market was operating particularly well. -- Jim
