Well I fixed the blower motor with new brushes, filed down to the right size. I got them from my local Northwestern Auto And Mill supply house. And the nicest part was he gave them to me. Well there was a slight catch....I have been looking for a good medium size vice for my workshop and he happened to have an excellent, made in the USA, unbreakable one. That was $125.00.
I will let you know if either item break in the near future.

Mike

Sounds like bad brush contact or a busted winding. If the shaft
is sliding when you change orientation an unworn part of the
commutator could make contact with the worn brushes and make
it run intermittently. A lister had some brushes made a few
years ago, I don't know if he'd have any left and I can't
remember who he was. (was it Jaime?)

You can buy "appliance" brushes at your local "Ace Hardware" and
whittle them down to fit. They wont last as long as the original ones
or I have heard that ones for a Volvo, p/n 1362710, will
work. Somebody give them a try and report back.
