I know what you mean. I wanted a w116 back in 1996 when I began my hunt, and
there was nada around here so I went to Southern Ontario, where there is
markedly less salt used in winter and lots of nice older luxury cars (or so
I thought).

In the process I also found the world's largest concentration of liars ;-).

About 18 months later I was ready to buy a ticket for Cali to go find one,
when an ex-Cali car owned by an ex-diesel wrench turned up by accident 20
miles from me.

Don't despair, trudging out to see used Benzes is like an evening at the
casino. Every time you pull the lever, you really don't know what's going to
happen next.
