We do not want to talk politics in general, we do want to share our
thoughts and feelings with people we like and trust. Banned allows us
to do that without hurt feelings

I was on another (non-MB) list that had what they called the
"water-cooler" list for random discussions which ended up being mostly
political.
But, not sure why you would feel obligated to provide that -- there
are a bazillion political forums on the internet already, anyone who
is interested in talking politics could easily find an arena in which
to do so.
