WCH, Since you indicated that you just want long life expectancy and the best price, I'd suggest Sylvania sealed beam halogen headlights at Advance or Autozone for ~ $10 each. As for your suspension groaning, you don't mention whether you think it may be coming from the front or rear. If it's the front and sounds like the ol' creaky door from some B horror flick, it's probably your lower ball joints. You can inspect the rubber boots for these by turning the wheel all the way right to inspect the right lower ball joint boot and vice versa for the left. If you find the rubber boot(s) torn, this is probably your problem as the grease lubricant disappears and water gets in there and the ball joint rusts. If the groaning is emanating from the rear and occurs primarily when you encounter bumps, it's probably the plastic trailing arms which are an easy and relatively inexpensive job. Good luck.
