I know. I just have fun with this kind of thing, and a lot of it does ring true.
In fact, as a gas station attendant I used to get treated pretty poorly by drivers of just about all luxury cars. We could hear the Benz diesels coming from before they showed up at our driveway, and we knew two things: we had a full-serve coming in, and we ought to brace ourselves for the accompanying attitude. But one of the foulest-attituded women drove a convertible Olds Cutlass - about '72 vintage. It's so funny that now I am driving the exact same type of Benz that we used to dread, but I'm as far from pretentious as the car is from cutting edge luxury.
