I agree Lowes is better than HD but yet. We bought a picnic table kit last spring and for them to actually FIND the stupid thing... Spanky finally got me one but what a production.
Lately I've been WAY disappointed with local stores for poor service, its like they WANT me to go to a big box store. Local lawnmower guy has a million notes around the store "pickup your mower when its done" "keep your reciept or you get no mower" etc. Twice now I've had him order parts for me only to find they never get ordered and thus never arrive. Then he scrambles and gives me some cock and bull story and last time a wrong part. He'll never get my business again. Tractor place I went to I thought was really good twice couldn't bother to look up a part and call me back. They'll never get my business either. In both cases I got correct parts online for less money including shipping and had the parts within a couple days. I thought about writing them letters but figured those would just go in the circular file and be a waste of my time... -Curt Date: Tue, 11 Sep 2007 06:40:21 -0500 From: Rich Thomas <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Subject: Re: [MBZ] i really don't get how brick and mortar shops can survive today To: Mercedes Discussion List <mercedes@okiebenz.com> Message-ID: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Content-Type: text/plain; charset=ISO-8859-1; format=flowed At Lowes (and HD) you can order on line (I think, or at least call on the phone) ahead of time (like the evening before) and they will have your order pulled and ready to load. You also need to get the KD studs, which is usually much straighter and less prone to warping. Does not cost much more. The larger stuff is more stable too. Lowes tends to have better product than HD, and better service (such as it is). --R --------------------------------- Boardwalk for $500? In 2007? Ha!
