Does anyone use graphite on the threads? I've used it for about fifty years and never "broke" a bolt but have had the tire people overtighten such that I had to use an impact wrench or cheater bar. I've also used it on spark plug threads in aluminum heads and never had to install a helicoil. Nevertheless, I can see an advantage in Marshalls technique since it probably prevents rust where graphite doesn't. Gerry -------------------------------------------
