We used to clean a sludged engine by draining the oil, filling the crank
case with kerosene up to the full mark and running at idle for just long
enough to get the oil pressure up. Then we would change back to oil, run for
a few minutes & then change the oil & filter (2 oil changes total).

2 changes of Mobil 1 will also work wonders.

Thanks,
Tom Hargrave

Subject: [MBZ] What is the current thinking on internal engine cleaners?

I got an Izuzu with a lot of sludge build up in the motor. What is the
best way to go?
A bit of ATF 50k's before an oil change, seafoam or running a synthetic oil?

Hendrik
