So I sent this guy a question:
*Dear eaglerestorables,*

Does this car have the factory replacement engine or is it the original
that suffers from bent connecting rods, which leads to the excessive oil
usage and engine failure?

and this is the reply:
**
I am assuming it has the original motor, I do know of the problem you
are speaking of and Mercedes never acknowledged there was one, even
though it was obvious. I talked to the local mercedes garage about the
oil usage it has and they said that not all of the original motors had
those problems, and the ones that did usually showed failure in the
first 100,000 miles. Don't know the accuracy of the info, but hope it
helps. thanks
