Doesn't a lot of this depend on the quality of the oil too? We are being told that we can run a 50:1 mixture in old outboard motors that originally called for as much as 16:1 mixtures. I am assuming that is mostly because the oil has improved since the 1960's. It makes me a bit nervous to reduce the oil that much but I am told there should not be a problem. If one puts in too much oil, then the motor tends to smoke a lot and things get gummed up. Not only that but from a green point of view, less oil is probably good for the lake as well.

I'm just politely pointing out that the engineers that designed it probably knew better than anybody how much oil it should have and out of the blue some other guy is calling me a girly man... Not that it has any relevance whatsoever to a snowmobile, girly man, but the Marshall Booths of the Trabant world say to always run 40:1 instead of the specified 50:1. They do run better with the richer mix... Tom P.S. Just kidding about the girly part. _______________________________________ http://www.okiebenz.com For new parts see official list sponsor: http://www.buymbparts.com/ For used parts email [EMAIL PROTECTED] To Unsubscribe or change delivery options go to: http://okiebenz.com/mailman/listinfo/mercedes_okiebenz.com _______________________________________ http://www.okiebenz.com For new parts see official list sponsor: http://www.buymbparts.com/ For used parts email [EMAIL PROTECTED] To Unsubscribe or change delivery options go to: http://okiebenz.com/mailman/listinfo/mercedes_okiebenz.com
