Oh man I did one of those in the 123, I am guessing it is generally a similar PITA. I can't help you specifically on the 126, but what I did was study the pics well (such as it was with the CD manual) and get all that in my head so what I felt with my finger(s) could be translated against what I saw. Being blind could probably help in this case, what with enhanced fingers sensing being your mechanism for "seeing." As I recall I could sorta see the element but not at the same time as contorting myself to touch it with one hand/ finger or get a wrench on the bolts, so it was mostly all by feel.
