Yes but it is empty. So I searched my log when I created the subrepo and
reverted the hgsub file to this version.
It still failed. Then I found out that the culprit was hg-git (but using
an experimental branch).
Afterwards it worked.

However, I came to the conclusion that subrepos are maybe not worth the
trouble, they cause more problems than the benefit they are supposed to
deliver.

So I think I will best de-active them. 

It is sufficient to delete the .hgsub file and then commit or are there
other steps to take into account?
