You can use .* for regular expression.

Example : 7a
                777771
                7????

for all the above you can use 7*  in your code.

Example : 88872222
              adfsasdf7aaaa
             12123137772222

if you wanted to use for above you can use *7* in your script.  there is no
"."

for regular expression "*" will do.. HAPPY SCRIPTING... :)
