I want to add some information with my query.

The data in the combo box populates in run time. The data actually
comes from browser cache. So when you type any character, first 100
records are populated in the combo box retrieved from file. So the
combo box is initially empty, unless some data in the autocompletion
box is typed in. This functionality has been implemented to put less
load on the page, as populating some 20,000 records on the page would
place a great load on the page.

I could have mentioned the above information initially, but i got to
know this today, when i discussed the scenario with my development
team.
