When the transaction is complete, is there some visible notification in the
browser where a user would know the transaction was complete?

If not, talk to the development team for the transaction processing. See if
there is something they do to teh browser at completion of a transaction.

If there is no such browser notification, then work on having them send a
signal to the browser that you could wait for!
