While dealing with special characters u have to specify the "/"
 character.so that QTP wil habdle it accordingly.
Same thing is applicable in reguler expressiosn.

Ex: in reguler expressios "$" to specify the first character. if your text
contains any special character like "$" then u have to specify as "/$" so
that it wil be considered as normal character.
