Hi, QuickTest Professional does not have special support for SharePoint controls, however with some modifications to QuickTest Professionals event configuration, you can record and replay against the controls.
Note: Special support for these controls is not part of QuickTest Professional. The information in this article is not guaranteed to work and is not supported by Mercury Technical Support. You are responsible for any and all modifications that may be required. 1. Unzip the attached file to a location of your choice. 2. Copy the sharepoint.xml file to a location, such as a network drive, which is accessible by all machines that will be used to record and replay against the SharePoint controls. 3. Go to Tools -> Web Event Recording Configuration. 4. Click <Custom Settings>. 5. Go to File -> Load Configuration. 6. Navigate to the location in step 2 and select the sharepoint.xml file. 7. Click <Open>. The Web Event Recording Configuration will be updated. Note: This file instructs QuickTest Professional to record against <TD> objects when an onmousedown event occurs. 8. Click <OK> to close the Custom Web Event Recording Configuration dialog. 9. Go to Tools -> Options. 10. Select the Web tab. 11. Click <Advanced>. 12. Set the "Record MouseDown and MouseUp as Click" option. See the attached screenshot. 13.
