QTP is defiantly winner at this point but I do not see that will stay ! 

It is an expensive tool and some features are not useful at all. If we just 
write custom gem or library to support object identification, we do not 
need QTP.  Other programming language like java and ruby provides more 
powerful libraries for   external files ,MS applications, different 
databases, datatable , XML ,notepad etc. 

You can do BDD and ATDD with QTP and QTP provides object identification to 
Siebel, SAP, ORACLE forms, mainframe ect..
