Objection!! I have Prime95 running on about 50 machines. Mostly
friends, where I have got permission to set up Prime95. Some are
office computers where I got the permission from the local IT-contact.
But also some people who I have no idea who are, who have installed it
trough a batch-file on a Samba-share I have on a Linux-box at the
university. The same file as I use myself when I install the software
on a new computer (it makes a uniqe local.ini and records the hostname
of the computer with the ComputerID in local.ini). I don't even know
if it is the owner of the computer who installed the program, or if it
was somebody else, and I don't care either. Technicaly I didn't ask
for permission, but as long as they installed it themselves I don't
think I should be blamed for that.

And I'm only ranking as number 70-something on PrimeNet!

I don't think that is fair at all. We are not to judge Blosser. He
did the work and should get the credit for it. If someone claims that
Blosser used their computers without permission, then that is a case
between Blosser and them.

Of course we should ask for permission if we are running the software
on other computers than our own. But I think we go too far if we reset
all the work of one person on suspection that he might have run Prime95
without permission on some computers.

During this summer 25 of the SGI Indys I'm using for double-checking got
upgraded from IRIX 5.3 to IRIX 6.2. This broke the script I use to stop
the porgram at opening hours for the computer room, when students are
using the maschines. The programs ran for two whole days at times of
the day when I wasn't allowed to run the program on these workstations.
Should I get discredited for those two days, or where do you want to set
the limit?

Btw: I smell pointy hair too.
