I don't think that you run out of diskspace if it's right that
you are factoring. However, if you run LL-Test, it's also possible
to run from a floppy. All you have to do is to install Drivespace :-)
then a LL-Test with one save-file fits on it.....

Betreff: Mersenne: running prime95 on a floppy

L.S.,

I tried to be smart. I've put a copy of prime95 (v16.4.1) on a diskette.
I filled in all the forms appearing on the screen. I had the program
running for a while, it performed some factoring. I then shut down
program in the regular manner. I was able to restart it once more. I
shut it down again, and wanted to start it again.

It now reports however:

<unknown>

This program has performed an illegal operation and will be shut down.

Quit all programs, and then restart your computer. If the problem
persists, contact the program vendor.

<UNKNOWN> caused an exeption c0000006H in module <unknown> at
0000:bff833c4

followed by a second screen:

This operation has been cancelled due to restriction in effect on this
computer. Please contact your system administrator

I am running it on the same standalone machine with a dialup account all
the time. What could have caused this? Shutting down the computer and
rebooting it did not solve the problem.

Yours on the Net,

Henk Stokhorst.
