On the subject of prehistoric computers, my first home computer was a Heathkit H8 with no monitor, I/O using audio cassettes, and it was thrilling. In 1958 I was programming an IBM 705 with a cycle time of 17 usec, and it was unbelievably fast. I think only the government could afford one.
