Thank you for that affirmation that I'm *not* a Nazi :-)

Again, I left the default priority setting that NT Prime uses, and also, it
is worth noting that only computers in Phoenix apparently had problems.  If
the cause *was* in fact NT Prime, then why weren't the computers in Omaha
and Denver also similarly afflicted?

And also note that since the machines had been running the software for a
period of maybe 2 weeks, why were there problems only on one particular day?

The circumstances surrounding the US WEST slowdown, in fact, point *away*
from NT Prime as the culprit, and instead, they point with full force to the
mainframe computers that US WEST uses.

FWIW, the users machines simply run an XWindow server that plugs into some
Unix machines.  So if they were having delays retreiving phone numbers (or
whatever), it reeks to high heaven of a *nix problem to me...especially
since I am somewhat familiar with these kinds of things happening to US WEST
in the past.
