Yup. I saw it yesterday (Wednesday, November 25, 1998).
The "answer" was something like, "A student discovered the longest one
known, enough to fill the pages of a good sized novel".
None of the 3 got it wright. 2 of the contestants answered "What is a word"
and the third put something like "What is an equation".
(The one who answered "What is an equation" ended up winning anyway, FYI).
Alex then gave the answer "What is a prime number", and pulled out this huge
book, presumably that had the number printed out. As the credits began
rolling, Alex started reading the number (big audience laugh).
How's that for a good memory?
I laughed when I saw it...because as we all know, prime numbers have become
a big part of my life at least :-)
