Hi,

I've hit an interesting problem, and George didn't seem to have the answer.
I think I've asked the list before, but now the problem has become a little
more serious...

I'm currently using a P2/448 (overclocked), and I needed/wanted to add my
own hooks (for FTP, GUI output and some other minor things). Now, since
George can't possibly include the security code algorithms in the source
(and I couldn't possibly think of trying to crack them), the security
codes are being set to zero (00000000), and thus PrimeNet won't credit
the work to my account.

Now, since my version for some reason is faster than George's (2-3% on LL
tests, 6-7% on factoring; I have no clue why), I don't really like going
back to a slower version. Any suggestions on how to improve the speed?
(The machine is idle all the time. Earlier, I tried ReCache, and it didn't
help much. The program is started with `-m' and `-w' parameters, and I'm
using the ELF version, and the source.zip, both downloaded directly from
the link at www.mersenne.org. v18.1 used in both cases, Linux kernel
v2.3.6 used, but the same `symptoms' existed when I was using the 2.2.x
kernels. gcc 2.7.2.3 and glibc 2.0.111 used. Sigh.)
