I agree with Gordon. We need to get *real* here. Theres nothing like
money to attract people to the search. I wouldn't mind betting that a
large percentage of seti@home people would start searching for primes if
they knew the amount of money on offer. It's a sad fact that many people
are motivated by selfishness, but thats human nature. The moment you
start splitting the prize is the moment someone else
will release software in competion to us, and people will use it in the
hope of gaining the whole prize for themselves. After all, why do you
think when the lotto prize is large, more people buy lotto tickets ? Not
because their chances are better, thats for sure. Greed is unfortunatly
one of humankinds strongest motivations.
