I actually was pretty annoyed by the mkdsec kernel. With the security
patch applied I actually compiled a new kernel in which /proc is
readable by everyone
(More programs suffered from /proc not being readable). This even is the
default
for the security patch! (Most important is the buffer overflow
protection)
