That was my first hunch as well.
Another possibility is a screensaver that uses warping, or gliding
images. The '3D Maze' screensaver from MS is especially bad (not that
I've analyzed all of them), and the '3D flower box', which seems very
often used, is also bad.
Personally, I use a blank screen; a good alternative is 'jumping'
images.
