I have a Cyrix 6x86 200 machine that runs Linux and serves as my
firewall/gateway/router, etc. for my home network. It's presently working
on distributed.net's OGR, but the last checkin I did, the proxy indicated
that it had no more OGR work to do. I don't want to put it on RC5, and it
would suck miserably at doing LL's. I could put it on factoring but I
want to make sure that the memory requirements would be small. The box
has only 16 meg of memory, which suits its "real" work just fine, and I
don't want to put on anything else that would cause lots of swapping. The
GIMPS FAQ says that the machine uses about 8 meg of memory (which would be
too much), but I don't know if that applies to the Linux version, or to
doing only factoring. Any clues?
