Sven, to enable debug symbol you have to add
options=(debug !strip)
in the PKGBUILB.
And then you have:
GAME_DEBUGGER=gdb steam
to attach gdb to the game.
I wasn't able to reproduce the crash with the alt-tab, even this morning. I am
using i3 as window manager.
