I haven't labeled the initial sources yet. Maybe I should do that before
you merge in anything. I was going to label all the files as 3.1-BETA-1
when I got them all checked in. This could be done with the src/ directory
since all the files should be there. As I wrote before, there are still
some other files and subdirs to be uploaded yet.

If you suspect there may be any problems, perhaps you should check-in
after your trip. If there's a problem and you're out of touch that might
be bad.
