Hi Daniel,

What do which python and python --version say, and did you install swig-python
through MacPorts?

We've had most of the developers working on Mac OS X 10.6 for a while (although
I'm no longer doing that, having recently upgraded to 10.7), but it can be
confusing because you might have a separate version of Python installed through
MacPorts. If you want a simpler build environment I recommend going with
whichever version of Linux you plan to deploy.
