The 'lt-' prefix stands for 'libtool'. After you install the binaries I believe this problem will be fixed. Feel free to install in a temporary location (no need to install in /usr/local).
Nevertheless, we should really let people testing Mesos from a build directory get access to the logs. Will circle back after we commit Ben's change and confirm that this is the case.
