Nas,
Is the application able to run properly on the build system? If not then you
have some other problem.

Subject: [meta-intel] how to cross compile for Ivy bridge processor

Hello everyone,
I have a machine installed with meta-chiefriever. The following is a piece of
information from meta-chiefriver README file.

The 'Chief River' platform consists of the Intel Ivy Bridge processor,
plus the Panther Point PCH. This BSP assumes that the Ivy Bridge
integrated graphics are being used.

Further information on the platforms supported by this BSP can be
found here:

  http://www.intel.com/p/en_US/embedded/hwsw/hardware/core-hm76/overview

Information on all Intel(r) embedded platforms can be found here:

  http://www.intel.com/p/en_US/embedded/hwsw/hardware
Now I want to execute a new application (iperf tool) on the meta-chiefriver
machine---target machine. Therefore, I compiled iperf in my host machine (same
nature with my target machine) and exported it the target machine. Finally I
tried to execute it, It produced the following error:

iperf: line 1: syntax error: unexpected "("
I investigated a lot about the error message in the internet, many feedback
about this suggested i had to cross-compile it with the target machine. First
of all I have the same hardware machine; secondly I dont know what I should
pass to the compiler for meta-chiefriver type.
info:
host machine: 64-bit
OS: ubuntu-12.04-x86_64
This took me a lot of days, I really appreciate your help.
Thank you,
//nas
