An alternative would be to place this in intel-common-pkgarch.inc, where the common pkgarch is set up, but that would have higher potential impact, being global. With this fix applied, along with other fixes to oe-core, it's possible to get successful builds with DEFAULTTUNE set to "corei7-64-x32", and boot the resulting images for intel-corei7-64.
