This solved my issue, thank you very much!

 
For posterity, specifically I added `kernel-modules` to the list of packages in 
my image's `.bb` file `IMAGE_INSTALL`, e.g:

IMAGE_INSTALL:append = " \

  ... others \

  kernel-modules \

"

Try brute adding all modules to the image by adding the kernel-modules 
package to the image. I had to this for my X15. And yes I need a less 

brute force solution, but this should give you an idea where the issue is.
