Also look into PREFERRED_VERSION

Thanks Geoff,

I don’t really get Yocto yet so I’m not sure how to ensure my user recipe overrides the ones in meta-python but I’ll poke at that mechanism and see if I can get what I need.

It is possible to write a recipe for the version (PV) you want to pin. You could add these to a user layer that has precedence over meta-python. How painful that is will depend on details of the python package interdependencies  in your project.

Cheers,

Geoff.

*Subject: *[meta-xilinx] Pinning python package versions

We need some specific versions of some python packages that I’ve added to our rootfs but I cannot find any examples of version pinning. I have a bbappend file that adds to the python modules package group which works fine but I need to pin some of them at a version and I can’t figure it out. Is this even possible?
