It can be done, but currently meta-kria expects petalinux. We're working to
separate them, but I'm not sure when it will be available.
You need meta-kria layer, and that has all of the hooks and configuration for
the kria components. Both the starterkits (kv or kr) as well as just the soms
themselves.
The necessary XSA files will be available to download as part of the
configurations.
As you indicated, if you are using the starterkit, then the FSBL, PMUFW, etc is
already flashed into the device.
Right now I’m using KR260 Starter Kit, but I want to simulate a situation when
we will have our own board.
With the 2023.1 version, coming soon, you will be able to use qemu-xilinx to
simulate the boards (note, not the programmable logic, just the booting process.)
The end goal for us is that you will want meta-kria, meta-xilinx and
meta-xilinx-tools combination. But right now, that doesn't work yet.. so you
need meta-petalinux and it's dependencies still.
As we push changes, we'll make announcements here.
