I understand you have done similar work before, would you please let me know 
more about it or can you share what you have done so I can continue?

I was using petalinux for Minized but I think there are some really issue with 
the tool and provided bsp from Avnet, since I have been getting lot of errors 
from the build process after a few rebuilds (first time after project creation 
works well), also I want to have more control of the build environment since I 
have been trying to add a simple axi_uart16550 to pl and Linux kernel driver 
crash as reported here

Hi Manuel,
since I have a Minized and I'd like to use it with Linux, I have started
the porting of u-boot first.

Unfortunately I don't have much time until the weekend to make more
progress.

I will keep you updated.
