We thought of having 2018.1 Xilinx components for Sumo release. However
we are thinking now to pin them to 2018.2 Xilinx components, major
reason being the
- QEMU memfd patch in 2018.2 branch
- ATF SPL inclusion in u-boot-xlnx code in 2018.2
We are still targeting mid-June for sumo branch cut. We have sent inital
patches for 2018.1 Xilinx component upgrade including newlib/binutils
upgrade.
Initial testing of sumo with upgrades seems to be stable. We plan to
introduce few more features of this release
- Newer Xilinx components kernel v4.14, u-boot 2018.01
- MALI 400 recipe to fetch binaries from xilinx.com
- Support for newer evaluation boards from xilinx, namely zcu104,
zcu106, Ultra96
- Support for VCU firmware binaries and kernel module
- Support for MiniZed, community contribution
- Introduce SOC variant variable as a override, this helps using the
overrides based on architecture and helps in BSP development
