Or you could look on the MetaCard WWW site, or even choose
"tools.metacard.com" from the MetaCard menu bar and click on the "MCI
Demo..." button.

Nope, you're right: MCI is a 16-bit subsystem in Windows 95 and 98,
and QuickTime 3 and 4 aren't available for it. So unless you're using
NT (which has a 32-bit MCI layer that does work with QT 3), you'll
have to use QuickTime 2.X. Unfortunately, that isn't available
anymore ;-)
Bottom line: unless your project is due very soon (which it obviously
isn't if you're just starting on it now), you're better off not
wasting any time fooling with the obsolete MCI subsystem and instead
plan on using the new player object in 2.3.
