MetaCard 2.3 beta 1 is now available in the directory:

Engines for Win32, Mac OS 68K and PPC, IRIS, SPARC Solaris, and HP
9000/700 have been built for this release. Packaging is .zip for
Win32, .sit (Stuffit) for Mac OS, and gzip/tar-gzip for UNIX. This
release also includes updated home, tools, and help stacks. See the
file README.2.3B1 for a list of the new features and other important
information.
Also: a patched 2.2.5 Win32 engine that works around the bug in the
newer HP and Epson printer drivers reported on this list is available
in the directory ftp://ftp.metacard.com/MetaCard/hp/. We're not
slip-streaming this engine into the standard 2.2.5 release package
because this engine has not been tested sufficiently for us to
guarantee that it's as reliable as the current engine with printers
that don't have the bug (which is the vast majority). And judging by
the very small number of actual bug reports we've received on this
issue (a number that is inexplicably and unfortunately much smaller
than the number of "me too!" posts to this list when the problem was
brought up), problems with the current engine are extremely rare.
These changes have been merged into the 2.3 beta 1 engine, where they
will be tested much more extensively.
